We used St John Rental Car Co, it's located a block from the RedHook ferry dock, and they have nice people, clean cars, reasonable rates. $390 for a week. You can also park in their lot while visiting Cruz Bay area, which is vary handy, since street parking can be difficult. Centrally located, helps too.

I rented a Jeep Wrangler (no frills ride) from Budget for 4 days at a rate of $200. I actually think that was the weekly rate. Budget is in the airport, and I was in my rental car in about 10 minutes. You can also take Budget cars on the ferry to St. John, while other rental agencies don't allow that.

Hello Zoe,

You can look at http://www.avis.com

http://www.budgetstt.com

Also look at the rates with Hertz, Dependable and a couple others - see what type of package you can get.

Hello Zoe,

I rented a new model 2 Door with A/C Chev Cavilier, from Budget at the Airport for $196.00/ week. Very friendly staff. It's right across from baggie claim and you can pick up the key while you wait for your bags.
