Hi There,

Does anyone know if they have settled everything at Sapphire?
We are going back again this year and have been told everything will once again be open, and the Sunday beach party will return.
Thanks

I would say that is very doubtful. However, only the owner of the common areas knows what he will do for sure.

Not heard anything remotely close - just out of curiosity, who told you this?

We live next to Sapphire Resort and have not heard anything. I truly hope for the owners and the resort that this can be ended and they get back too being one of the best resorts on the island. But I would not hold any hope out for now.

My family and I returned from a wonderful week at Sapphire Beach Resort at the end of June. I didn't hear anything about the return of the restaurants, or the Sunday Beach Party. My husband, two children, and myself have been coming down to Sapphire for the past 15 years and this trip was probably one of the best. The "Banana Cabana "is a snack bar/grill between buildings B and C. They serve a continental breakfast (Breakfast is free with a voucher if you book through Antilles), They have great Burgers, Hot Dogs, Veggie Burgers, and fabulous drinks, beer, etc. for lunch. We took advantage of the free shuttle service into Red Hook at the lobby each evening to try new restaurants. Highly recommend the burgers at "Big Bambooze," and Caribbean Saloon as always.

The beach was clean and beautiful, and the reef seems to actually be on the mend. The morning snorkeling out toward the grassy area to the left of the beach was quite the adventure........A 4 ft Barracuda, a beautiful Spotted Eagle Ray. and a large Sea Turtle lumbering along the sea grass as he enjoyed his breakfast. Just beautiful.

There were several security men walking throughout the resort all week. ( very nice young guys). We were also pleased to see a gentlemen from Sapphire run along the beach to stop people from standing on the reef...thankfully it only happened twice during the week. Hope your trip is as wonderful as ours was.

I'm glad you have a good time on Sapphire. That gentleman my have been me. I yell at anyone who walks on the coral. It happens very frequently.

THANK YOU---THANK YOU--THANK YOU for taking action to protect that reef! I have been trying to tell people for years not to walk on the reef and usually get responses like: "It's just rocks." Very frustrating. Also happy to hear that the reef is recovering. I noticed a lot of bleaching and way fewer fish the last time we were there in 2008.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks everyone for all of your responses.
When we left Sapphire in February one of the workers told us everything was going to be settled in March.
I am sorry to hear it isn't, but we will still enjoy our trip.

we just left Sapphire yesterday, miss it already!

it was our 2nd time there and we are already planning how to go again. where else can you stay where the water is 14 steps from your front door, the cross winds are wonderful , the views are incredible and the ferry is conveniently close. Sure, it is not the Ritz. But, we love it and will return. If the resort or whoever is in legal hold ups could get there problems settled, then the place would really improve. Especially, since visitors are re thinking their visit to Coki, Sapphire could benefit.

now, I need help. We will be bringing our kids next time and want to check out the larger units. Does anyone have a recommendation of an owner direct rental?

thanks!

We are staying @ Sapphire next week and we have rented a double unit from a women named Shelia who has been extremely helpful. My wife, my (4) daughters and myself are staying there.
The units are A208 and A209. They are more or less connected with (3) total bedrooms and a pull out couch. The website is www.paradisenights.us. I' think they are among the nicest units @ Sapphire. I get back Aug 1st. I will review the stay at sapphire upon our return.
Looks like some rain next week but hoping for sunshine.
