If you are single or a couple looking for a clean, reasonably priced place to stay in St. Thomas, this is the place. We stayed in unit 202 in the St. Martin building. The bathroom was new and the place was very clean. The unit is a studio, with a queen size Murphy bed. The view from the balcony looked out over the water and the breeze was perfect. This is not a 4 star resort by any means, however for the price it met all our expectations. I found the unit on www.vrbo.com. The owner, Boris, answered all my questions immediately via email and called the unit while we were there to check on us. We paid $1,200 for 8 nights and the owners website is www.stt-vacation.com. I had read several scary reports on Sapphire Village and even emailed my concerns to the owner. He stated that some of the units are in bad shape, however most units are in good shape. His unit was just as he promised. There is a small pool and a restaurant, however we never utilized them as we took trips to other islands each day.

We wanted to stay in St. John, however the cheapest decent place we could was over $300 per night. We stayed here and took the ferry to St. John most of the days for $10 round trip, then took taxis to the various beaches on St. John. Forget about renting a jeep, just take taxi’s. No need to worry about drinking and driving or finding a place to park in Cruz Bay. The ferry runs from 8am to 11pm. We also took the ferry to Jost Van Dyke and Virgin Gorda. We tried a New Horizons boat trip, however save the cash and just take the ferry to both islands. The best beach is White Bay in Jost Van Dyke, take the ferry and spend two days there!!!! It is home to the Soggy Dollar bar, where the famous drink the Painkiller was invented. The ferry lands in Great Bay and a taxi will take you to White Bay for $5.
