Hello to all.....How much of the island / coastline can you explore by renting a dinghy from Coral Bay?

I am not sure about a rental from Coral Bay. . . . but if you rent from one of the places in Cruz Bay you can explore from Cruz Bay (Great Cruz Bay if you rent from the Westin) all along the North Shore and even out to Waterlemon at Leinster Bay. Your options would be Noahs Little Ark or Calypso Charters. Calypso (340-776-7245)has center console dinghy's with 50hp engines and a regular steering wheel. If you rent from the Westin you would start a few bays over in Great Cruz Bay.

You're allowed to cover the greater Coral Bay area, including Hurricane Hole & out to the east end. You cannot go to the south shore.

The Coral Bay area is beautiful. We like it because it's been less crowded than Cruz Bay.

Check out http://crabbyswatersports.com/ Don't hesistate to call them if you have questions. We have not personally rented from them, but have talked to others that did, and they were pleased.

If you love snorkeling, try the mangrove area--easily within reach by dinghy from coral bay--they were amazing--go in a.m. for best angle of sun into their roots. (Not a trip I would recommend for novice snorkelers.)

Whatever you decide to do, have a fantastic trip!

Liz
