I am getting married in St Thomas in January, 2010 and I am looking into activities for my guests over the long weekend. Anyone have any suggestions of must-dos? Also, I wanted to have some dancers teach a dance class before my rehearsal dinner - preferable Caribbean dancing or salsa? Anyone know any companies that provide can such dancers/classes? Thanks!

There's a very nice dance studio around the corner from my job (which is near Havensight). I'll go by there tomorrow and get the name, because I'm not 100% sure of it right now. The ladies who run the studio always win in some category in the carnival parade, and I think they have a website. I'll post again tomorrow.

I found the information I was looking for. It's the Caribbean Ritual Dancers. Their phone number is 340-775-9881, and they supposedly have a website: http://www.ritualdancers.com

There are also several other groups that perform traditional dances that are similar to US square dancing. These are fun, because anybody can easily follow along, and they're not sexy so the dances won't offend anyone. This studio probably offers lessons on some of these, too.

The great thing about blog like posts are that they still show up in Google search. If this is a place where people come for information, I figured I'd give them the right contact for the Caribbean Ritual Dancers. http://www.facebook.com/caribbeanritualdancers

Have a great day!
