Hi all, I have been reading all of your posts and can't wait to get there! We are coming down in November and staying at Balance in Fish Bay, anyone ever been there or have any opinions? We did our shopping via the net, so we are rolling the dice on this one, but the pictures looked beautiful and it was just built in 2007. We are renting a Jeep as it looks like it will be needed since we are staying out of the way a bit. Any other advice? Thanks!

Great idea renting a jeep, gives you much more flexibility for exploring, beach hopping and so on. Advice on stuff to do... relax and have a great time :@). Do some beach hopping, lots of beautiful choices: Maho, Cinnamon, Trunk, Caneel, Salt Pond, Lameshur, Denis, Hawksnest, Francis... If you haven't already checked the beach guide on this site for what amenities each beach has, some have food/drink and some do not so you'd want to bring some snacks and water for those beach days. Check out Annaberg Ruins. Stop by the National Park Visitor Center in Cruz Bay and find out when they have cultural and historical programs at Annaberg; usually it is in the morning around 10am on certain days. The Park also does guided hikes on Reef Bay Trail which is worth doing, you can also do it on your own. The ruins at Cinnamon Bay are also interesting and easy to do along the self guided trail and in combo with spending beach time at Cinnamon Bay. If you haven't already picked up a book for St. John you might want to check out St. John Off the Beaten Track, or Feet, Fins, Four Wheel Drive, or St. John on Foot and by Car. You can find them at VITraders.com - Visitor Guides.

Have a great time.
