We are coming next month and got a great package with air and hotel at the Holiday Inn. The hotel looks great on the internet but we all know that internet photos can be deceiving. Is the hotel and surrounding area OK?

Thanks. We look forward to seeing ST Thomas for the very first time.

We stayed there once using Holiday Inn Points. It is fine if you are getting a deal. Not brand new, but nice pool and convenient to most shopping and food. Use normal precautions at night--cab to restaurants at a distance and don't wander down dark alleys and use common sense. In the daytime fine to walk to shopping and restaurants. I believe they ran a daily free shuttle to the beach. Again, not a plush resort on the beach but convenient to downtown.

Hello,

Its on the waterfront. If you have a room at the front then you will have a nice view and if you don't then your view is of roads/roofs in other words - no view. If you go back about a block from the hotel then you have a seedy area at night so don't go back that way at night, use taxis.

Thanks,
We are renting a car and do not plan on walking at night in bad areas.
