Taking a ferry to STJ for the day from STT. Are shops & restaurants within walking distance? Also is there a place to change from swimsiuts to clothes? Thanks!

Hi
Yes the restaurants and shops in cruz bay are all with in walking distance in fact the whole town is. There is a public restroom just to the left as you come off of the ferry dock. Make sure you go up and vist Ruth at ST John Spice

Once you get off the ferry you are literally IN Cruz Bay where the shops and restaurants are... the taxis that will take you to the beach of your choice will be right at the end of the dock and many of them have facilities for changing. Research which beaches through the National Park service...

If you are up for a little hike i love Solomon Beach and Honeymoon Beach.. they are a short (20-30 min) walk from Cruz bay. Since you have to walk, no taxi directly there, there aren't usually that many people! You also save on the taxi fare money which can be spent on a "painkiller"(drink) at the Beach Bar or something lighter like Carib or Virgin Islands Pale Ale, all of which go perfectly with a day on the beach!

cruz bay is not even that large or great to spend your time walking around in. If you are only going to stj for the day, head to the beach and enjoy stj the way you are supposed to.
