Hi Locals

I was at both Kmart and CostULess today looking for sunscreen..
Kmart didn't have a lot to choose from (mostly SPF 15 and lower)
and Cost U less just had SPF 15 varieties. Is there anywhere else
on the island that has a decent sunscreen selection? Thanks! 🙂

Nearly every gift shop has sunscreen available.

Try the Pharmacy in Red Hook Plaza - or the pharmacy in Havensite whichever is more convenient for you.

Try Chelsea Drug Store in Red Hook. They carry the Neutogena products as well as many other sun screens, and they are very nice people.(tu)

Yes - the Chelsea Drug Store is the one I meant in Red Hook Plaza - and they are just the nicest people for sure!

Thanks guys! I actually ended up at the Kmart in town (old woolworths) and found
what I needed at 20% off! I will keep those other suggestions in mind for the future.
You guys are so helpful! 🙂

A discount is always good. I think sunscreen manufacturers began ripping us off once the dangers inherent in sun exposure were studied and publicized. I would like to know the manufacturing cost per bottle of sun screen, as I suspect the rip off is most egregious from manufacturer to wholesaler.

I agree with you, dntw8up! The higher the SPF, the more $$$. I read somewhere that anything over 30SPF
is just for marketing purposes, lol. I have noticed that the spray styles provide better coverage...good for snorkeling..

I highly recommend you bring your own sunscreen. Everything except Liquor, Cigarettes, and Jewelry is higher in ST Thomas, ST John, and St Croix. Also it is hard sometimes to find the higher SPFs on the islands.

Remember you are on an island and many things are imported therefore the prices are much higher than the states.
