My wife and I are arriving in STJ on 9/24. The weather updates are forecasting showers every day. We're coming in any case, but was curious... has it been raining every day? Or, are the forecasts being pessimistic? Ophelia will be a challenge, but what's it really like in September? I guess the real question is, do I need sunscreen?

Even if it's cloudy, you'll need the sunscreen. But that's not really your question. Right now it looks like Ophelia will pass to our north. If that happens, it will probably mean 1 or 2 days of totally cloudy, rainy weather. If she moves further south, it will mean you'll get to experience a tropical storm, but still only 2-3 days of bad weather.

Unless a named storm is passing through the area, the rainy season here usually means a few showers with lots of sun interspersed. But we ALWAYS recommend trip insurance, just in case
