Ok, yes, I was a long time lurker, but then registered....... Anyway, I was at Gecko on Monday night, I see this couple sitting at the bar, and the guy looked liked notahippie, so I approach him and ask - "Are you notahippie from vinow?" The guy looks at me like I have three heads, obviously the wrong person. I wished him a good vaca and went on my way. Embarrassed? Sort of, kind of, not really, that is the magic of St. John. I can make a mistake, be laughed at and still be loved at the same time......... notahippie, hope you are having a great time, sorry about the rain.............

😀

I wish it had been me!

We were at Gecko Tuesday for lunch. Missed me by just a bit.

Today at Lameshur another beach goer (she's a lurker, too) asked if I was NotAHippie.

We'll be around a few more days. Having a GREAT time. The weather has been fantastic.

Don't be afraid to ask the next person that looks like me if it is me. It might be.

More STJ pix!!

How was the drive to Lameshur after all the rain?

That is quite a ride on dry days - much better now that it is mostly paved
but still a ride

How was the drive to Lameshur after all the rain?

The word was that we needed a 4 wheel vehicle to get around some parts of the island and even the main roads if it has been raining. Yep. True!

The drive to Lameshur was an adventure. Paved? ummm - yeah, about 100 total feet of the road. Not the rest of it! My pancreas settled near my right lung, and my kidneys tumbled like dice in back alley craps game, but it was so worth the drive. The blue cobblestone beach is right out of a dream. The sound... oh my... what a wonderful sound....

Until they paved that short section - some if not most of the rent a car places put that road off limits.

Which of course means we must go! 😉

Weeeellllll...I didn't get in his face (hid in the bushes), but he was hard to miss. I ran into Ed again at the Beach Bar and confessed spying, and taking the photo, and posting, so I think we are "safe" (as we like to say here).

Looks more like the rare and elusive Big Rock St. Johnian Sasquatch!

It was great to meet you today, Julie. 😀

You too! Next time...you might want a better "disguise???" Have a safe trip home, you and the Mrs. Next time...stick around the Beach Bar for a minute longer for a Bushwacher on me!

Are you back yet, Ed? I want to hear all about Serendip, because I'm seriously thinking about it for my next trip (OK, really it's my next-next trip).

So glad that you had such a good visit despite the off and on weather which, trust me, we're not used to either for such a long spell! Glad you had a chance to meet Julie and maybe next time you can hop over to STT to see what this island has to offer. It's always such a pleasure to "meet" people such as yourselves who come here with such a great attitude and an open mind, go with the flow and get the most out of our islands and their inhabitants. Your photos are awesome and your talent is quite remarkable. Looking forward to seeing the wife's island-inspired artwork!

Of course you know that you've only experienced the tip of the iceberg and I can only hope that you're starting already to save those pennies for a next trip some time soon.

Thank you so much and cheers!

Ed, I figured you'd see my message here.

I looked at your pictures and they are gorgeous. I know that you are a photographer by trade, but they were breathtaking.

I am ready to go NOW, although I did officially get under six weeks recently!
