I plan to go to the Bahamas August 22. Is there a ferry or water taxi that I can catch from Freeport to VI? How can I get there by boat?

You do know that the Bahamas is about 1200 miles away from the VI, right? It's not exactly a 30 minute boat ride for a $6 fare--more like several days and a lot of cash. Book a cruise out of Miami that will take you down by ship if you are so committed to going by boat rather than flying...I doubt you will find many options in the Bahamas unless the cruise ship stops there...better go to Miami and figure out your way down island from there...

To go to the Bahamas your best bet is to leave from Ft. Lauderdale FL.
