*I was born in usvi but recently living in us mainland. do i need a passport to travel outside the us and its territories?

If you travel outside the US and it's territories, YES you need a passport.But to travel to Canada, they accept a birth certificate, I believe

I will be island hopping - bahamas, cayman island and jamaica. Jamaica being my port of departure.

the caymans and Jamaica will also accept a certified birth certificate along with a photo id unless things have changed in the last year.Your travel agency could tell you for sure

Why not get a passport? It's not that difficult. I think mine took less than 3 weeks. Just my 2 cents.

If you are living in the states now, you can get it there. I'm sure it would be faster than down here.
