Will anyone give me some information on how to get to Jost Van dyke (soggy dollar) and the cheapest way.

If you look top right this page you'll see a link to the inter island ferry schedule where you'll find information on the ferry service to Jost. An alternative is to go via Dolphin Water Taxi which takes you directly into White Bay and the Soggy Dollar:

Have fun!

Don't forget to take your passport as you'll have to clear into the BVI.

We made this trip last year. Took the ferry. That gets you to Jost fairly early. We took a taxi from the ferry dock to the Soggy Dollar, and were there early enough to eat great Pineapple Pancakes, which they'd been serving for breakfast. Then it was on to Painkillers!

$75 public ferry plus $15 departure tax plus $10 round trip from dock to Soggy Dollar - relatively quick unless they go to Tortola first (you never know until you are on the ferry and this has happened the last two times I have been) in which case it will be around 11am (this past weekend) before you arrive!!!

When are you going? We are looking to go over Oct 24th 25th or 26th and hope to go over with Dolphin $110 rt plus BVI taxes. They won't make a run with out a certain # persons (no idea what the minimum is though). No ferry on thursdays and they depart JVD fri at 3pm and and sat they leave at 4pm if I'm not mistaken. I imagine you would have to leave WB by 2:45-3 to comfortably make the 4:00 ferry??

I'm planning a trip to St. Thomas and then Jost. I have never stayed on Jost before, so I'm looking for some "ins and outs" to maneuvering getting off the ferry once in Jost, to best way to load up on some rum and water prior to arriving at Jost, or really getting some insight on how hectic or non hectic it will be. I'm flying into St. Thomas around 12:30 and afraid that getting to the ferry for a 3:00 departure maybe pushing it a bit. So I was thinking maybe going there the next day or mid week..... thoughts? PS: was planning to go next May.

Much thanks for any feed back.

Mary,

We are going to Jost next May, also. Already have Sandcastle booked for 4 nights and after that we will go to St John for 2 weeks. Soon I will be checking further into a private boat to Jost. We have decided to stay 1 night on St. Thomas just to make sure we have enough time to get to Jost as I have been told that customs closes at 4:30 on Jost. We plan to arrive on Jost on May 3rd. Would this fit into your schedule to share a private boat?
