What would you like to know - I have not been inside but know the owners.

Well, we are a group of 7 (3 couples and one single). We were looking at One Beach Road on St. Thomas but we are having trouble making the numbers work (can't find that 4th couple). We want something that is't too far from restaurants and beaches so that coordinating people in cars isn't too much of a hassle. The property looks very nice, I just wonder about the location on the island (since I haven't been there in 20 years!).

Any info on the area or villa (nice as it looks?) would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Jen

Can't help you with South Shore Villa but I have heard it is very nice - I'll try to find the trip report I just read from a family who stayed ther.

Great Turtle villa is in Upper Carolina approx 5 mins (from the time you leave the villa) from Coral Bay - Skinny's etc and approx 10 mins from Maho and the start of the North Shore beaches 🙂

Villa Agel is in a quiet area of St Quacco Zimmerman approx 10 mins from Salt Pond, 5 mins from Miss Lucy's, 10 mins from Skinny's so putting you 15-20 mins from Maho (depending on how fast you drive 🙂 )

Hoped this helps

We stayed at South Shore Villa in May of this year - we had three couples. The villa is extremely nice, they put high quality fixtures, furniture, tile, etc. It was a little too far out for us to stay there again, we enjoyed it, but will not stay that far away from town again.

Jen Ross,
One Beach is not far and near to Sapphire Beach. It is out on a Peninsula and there are only a few houses in that exact area. Again, if you have any questions on One Beach Rd., feel free to pm me! 🙂

If you want to be close to restaurants, I would not recommend staying at Villa Agel in Coral Bay. Most of the restaurants on STJ are in Cruz Bay at the other end of the island. But because most of the island of STJ is comprised of national park, staying close to a beach isn't likely...because of that fact, renting multiple vehicles is advised when staying in groups.

Yes there are more restaurants in Cruz Bay but Coral Bay has Sweet Plantains, Miss Lucy's, Restaurant at Concordia (sorry forgot the name) Shipwreck, Vies, Donkey Diner, Skinny's, Island Blues, Aqua Bistro, Mosquito Bites, Jewels, Firefoods, Sputnik (not all the time) - so there is definately no shortage of food here in Coral Bay 🙂
