I know this villa has been discussed and I tried to search but nothing came up..
The original villa I wanted to rent is already booked for March 2010. So I am looking at
Villa Maria...It is for our family of 5..Myself, husband, 3 kids (20, 16, 13). Here are my questions if you
have rented it..
1. Would you recommend it?
2. Is it private? Don't need to be isolated, but just don't want excessive noise from neighbors, etc..
3. I believe the master br is separate... Would this lead to me worrying about he safety of the kids, or is
it still secure for the kids bedrooms, etc. (outside entrances to the kids bedrooms?)
4. Are the furnishings in good shape??
Any other info, etc you would like to provide would be great....Thank you so much!! ; )

BNSILLY,

Sorry for the slow reply, I am currently in Europe and just need a quick VI fix so I had to login. 😎

Under the VINOW vistor review section here is what I posted
Catered To Villa Maria

The other place was my trip report

Pilgrimage to Paradise

To answer your questions quickly:
1. Yes
2. Only Noise was the first couple days are neighbors ran their AC, Very minor construction noise during the day never impacted us. Both minor when compared to the overall experience
3. With kids that age I would have zero concern about safety - if they were under 10 I would say look elsewhere
4. Everything was in GREAT SHAPE

Read the reports and when I get back maybe I can explain more

btw bnsilly - I should add: I just bumped into hotrns post on another site. The hotrns family are great travel partners and it look like their comments were pretty much the same.

It also sound like we need to get back to VA there are a lot of stories from their last STJ adventure.

Back next week - PM if you have any specific questions

Thanks so much Tom..I enjoyed your review..I have no concern about the villa, but am a little concerned about intruders after reading hotrns posts...especially taking our kids...however, I am sure if the money allows, we would still book a trip and stay at VM..Thanks again!

Want you to know that we had NO problems in Villa Maria (although you could argue that it was no more secure than Allesandra). I do believe that you are relatively safe anywhere in St John so long as you take the proper precautions. Do use the safe for your valuables and I would lock the sliders at night.

I have to agree with hotrns. We have been going to STJ since the late 70s
We have been twice with hotrns

I have been loose with items of value in the past, and I will be more aware in the future because of hotrns experience...

But it will not slow me down from returning to island. I have always said when it comes to crime in STJ use common sense, but rarely have I followed my own advice - I will in the future
