I'm currently planning a trip to STJ, originally I thought about staying at Maho bay camp grounds, or Cinnamon bay campgrounds, so I'm not opposed to rouging it. Here's my dilemma, I want to be scuba diving as much as possible during the day, and enjoying some nightlife in the evenings. I'm not sure what a good idea it would be to leave very expensive dive equipment unattended at a camp site. Also, I do not want to rent a vehicle, and it seems like both locations were not ideal for getting back to Cruz bay to possible Dive outfits. Basically I would like a room within close proximity to Cruz bay (walking distance). A nice bed, a shower, and maybe a refrigerator and swimming pool would be nice. I'm planning this trip as soon as the high season rates start to go down. I'd like to get there as early as April 18th. Hopefully someone on here can help me. Thank you so much for your time in this matter!

P.S. My price range is 1000-1500 for a condo/villa/room to stay a week or longer.

Try Coconut Coast Villas or Star Villas
Just google either one with St John in line

We have stayed at Coconut Coast last Easter for a couple days and I was very pleased

We are staying at one of the Star Villas in May before we go on a sail charter.

Trip report to come

We have stayed at Lavender Hills and Larimar just past Star Villas. All were great and an easy walk to downtown (of course going back is all uphill...)
