My husband and I will be visiting Water Island in May and staying at the VI campground for a week. If you have stayed there what are some tips you can give me. We need to buy food at St. Thomas to bring with us. Where should we go for a grocery store? What kind of prices will we encounter for meat, milk, fresh fruits? Is it better to try and bring some things with us? I'm really at a loss.

I can answer your Water Island questions if you call me at 828-775-4481. Easier to talk than type.

We visited the campground the last time we were at Water Island. Very cute cabins, a communal open air kitchen area with grills, nice communal bathrooms. It faces east, so you should get a good breeze. They have an internet room so you can send us a post from the road.

There is a grocery at Crown Bay where you will catch the ferry- Gourmet Gallery. It will have everything you need. You can wait for your ferry at Tickles- have a cold one and enjoy!:D
