Hi everyone,

Well, we're leaving tonight... arriving on St. Thomas tomorrow!! Woo-hoo!

I read on another board that not many restaurants serve iced tea on St. John. Is it the same on St. Thomas as well? Now, I know you're all going to say we should be drinking rum drinks anyway, so why bother with iced tea... but we love iced tea too!

Does anyone know of any restaurants that serve it on STT or STJ? Not that we'd select a restaurant for this reason alone, but I'm curious to know.

Also, would restaurants serve it sweetened or unsweetened? I am going to bring a baggie of Splenda packets and hope to find tea that is unsweetened, so I can sweeten it myself.

Thanks everyone!!

Carole

And, Blu, the weather was gorgeous today. I have use of a private pool (my hideaway spot) overlooking Secret Harbour and today was idyllic. The sun blazed down, the palm trees rustled with an occasional cooling breeze and as I lay on a float in the pool reading away I hummed to myself once in a while, "Heaven, I'm In Heaven..."

Not long to go, girl!!!

STT, next week this time, I'll be on STT soil.

Is the island green these days? I love landing and seeing all the green (not brown).

Will you have chowder next week?

Funny to be going to the islands looking forward to chowder...but I'm hooked!

Blu: OK I'll make the chowder. Sopa de frijole negro too. And, yes, everything is lovely and green. Mowing and weedwhacking have been on the schedule regularly the last few weeks! See you soon and enjoy the trip down. Cheers!

Yes, very green!!

The beaches were gorgeous today... we went to Sapphire and Secret Harbour. The water at Sapphire was incredible... so many beautiful shades of blue!

I'm an iced tea fan from childhood, and have ordered iced tea all over the US.

I always ask before I order, "Is it fresh brewed?" If they say no, it's an instant mix and will probably taste awful (maybe that's what Kokopelli serves) so I order something else. If they say yes, I order, and if it doesn't taste right, I send it back.

Most of the restaurants on STT serve decent iced tea - just make sure you ask if it's fresh brewed. Nobody here serves fresh brewed sweetened tea like they do "down south."

Had iced tea at Glady's' today... it was quite good. The tea was just OK at the Green House last night... but I know it was fresh brewed as they brought it in a small carafe. The best so far is still Secret Harbour!!
