Hi Everyone,

I am traveling with a group of six to St John in 24 Days, but who is counting. Just wanted to throw something out there to anyone who might be on the island at the same time and would like to say hi. If you see three couples traveling together having several beers and cocktails at Woodys for HH have a seat and join us. It may not be us, but if not who cares! We have all been before (last May was the last time) and will probably continue going every year. (My husband & I married on St Thomas 05/15/2000)

Hey Cincy...we'll be on St. Thomas from May 12- May 19th. We'll surely be getting over to St. John....so if you see about 9 people wondering around, you say hi too..

We should start making up t shirts that say:

"USVI Vacation Message Board Member" lol

or maybe even...

"I'm looking for Kenny Chesney" oh boy....

We'll be there 5/12 - 5/17. Cincygirl, are you by chance from Cincinnati? Just wondered, because I'm from Ohio.

Thanks for the posts!
I hope to run into all of you, we have two days planned, but other than that we are free as a breeze. We are usually at a beach snorkeling, lounging and having a few drinks starting around 10 to ? (we know that is the worst time to be out in the sun, but we like it hot). Then we hit an establishment for HH, Skinny Legs, Woodys, The Beach Bar..

Yes, our group is all from Ohio, the Cincinnati - Greater Cincinnati area. Our group ranges from the ages of 33 to 43. If I get ambitious, maybe I'll post something from last year.

23 Days!!!!!

Mommabear and I will be on STT 5/12 to 5/20. We're going to Tortola on Mon. the 14th but plan on at least one day on STJ. We want to do a half day dingy rental to check out the north shore. The afternoon will be spent checking out the various drinking establishments in Cruz Bay (Woody's, the Beach Bar, ect.). I'll be the one wearing the STX ball cap. Maybe we'll see you there.

Hey, we will be there too. The 15- 24th on STT but plan to head to St John for some evening fun and beach time. We should all get together for a drink or day on the beach. We want to rent a boat one day too and we will be on JVD on sat the 19 -20 for the night. Also we booked a trip on the New Horizons for a day sail on thurs the 17th. Join us for the day. I will be with my sister, her friend and my friend all between 23-38. I know sometimes age is a factor for some but not us. We're just happy to be going on a vaca together. If anyone is interested in renting a boat and captain for a Baths / Marina Key (sp) maybe Willy T day let me know the more the merrier (and the cheaper)! Leticia

Bassman -- We're hoping to do a dinghy rental as well, but probably a full day. Have you decided what place you're going to rent from?

What are the hours of happy hours on St. John and is it close to the ferry to get a ride back to St. Thomas AKA walking/stumbling distance? Ha, ha... You mentioned Woody's, Skinny's and the Beach Bar are fun for happy hour, what are some of their specials and what's the atmosphere like? Any live music at all?

Thanks!
Jeff

For our group HH starts around 10:00 am and doesn't end until we go to bed. Woody's HH has great drink prices and I think it's around 4:00 (someone correct me if I'm wrong). From what I recall, Woody's has $1 longnecks and reduced mixed drinks during HH, no live music there, but it's a lot of fun. The Beach Bar and Skinny Legs have live music, but I think it is more in the evening, but again I may be wrong... Woodys and the Beach Bar are definitely within a safe distance to make it to the ferry, Skinny Legs is in Coral Bay on the other side of the island.

Leticia, on the 17th a couple in our group is getting married, so that is one of our two planned days. The other planned day is Sunday, the 13th, we have Born to Rhumb reserved with Capt Kevin for a day in the BVI's.

Bassman, I will keep an eye out fro the STX ballcap.

Leslie,
We're renting from Noah's Little Ark based on my son's recommendation. He and my DIL have rented from them twice. I think you can see their inflatables on the gotostjohn web cam.

Cincygirl congrats to the happy couple! Where are you all from? We will be staying at Sapphire, you? Where is the beach bar? I know Woody's. We are all day happy hr. too really. Not fall down drunk or anything, just slow sipping all day combined with snorkel, sun and good food. It makes me happy just thinking about it.

Leticia, We are staying at a villa in Fish Bay-STJ. I will forward on the Congrats to the couple, thanks(we are all excited for them - we tried to get them to get married last year)! We are the same way, we have drinks through out the day, but also eat, snorkel and sun, just happy days!! The Beach Bar is right on the water in Cruz. if you are standing in the water it is on the right side of the Bay. Hopefully, we will run into each other on St John! 18 Days!!!!!

Oh my gosh!! That is so my husband's and my schedule when on the island.....if you even can call it a schedule!? We just returned home on April 17th and I just can't get into the swing of things....still today on the 25th! I so miss Woody's HH and we seemed to find the best parking spot this year!

OH since you obviously understand the drinking in the morning bit on the beach, something I needed daily to and got addicted to are the wrap sandwiches found only at the Starfish Market. For only $5 you get 2 LARGE half wrap sandwiches. (A few different flavors). Delicious and relatively healthy. Just something to soak up the beer during the day so I can last ALL day and night! My husband and I each take a half around 1:00ish and we're set until later! We prefer to NOT do breakfast...just our coffee and the Ponche Kuba carribean cream! 🙂 Eating in the morning seems to fill us up and slow us down!

I'd love to book 2 flights and come meet you all in May!!!!

Mrs.H - Is there any other way????? You may start out thinking, I am not going to have a beer or drink until afternoon and then you arre sitting on the beach and think why not?!? Thanks for the heads up on the wraps at Starfish, that sounds like a perfect. We shop at Starfish and Pie and Piece (or whatever that name is).

Come on down 5/11 - 5/19!!!!!!
