We've booked St. Thomas and like to dance Salsa. Where exactly can we do that?

Lower left corner. Right behind the Holiday Inn is one that raises hell until 2 am I heard from one of their guests. I don't know what you think you will find, as these are just little neighborhood bars with loud music, sometimes annoying. No closed in organized dance halls except for what you were told before like Stereo.

@ All nice Helpers
thanks a lot for all your feedback you are great and I feel welcome to St. Thomas.

here are the links directly from GoogleMaps... if you (Sherman) cannot see the blue pins (sorry, but then) you should doublecheck your system. We checked from different systems and it has worked. Btw. I'm quite sure GMaps and GEarth are using the same maps. So it should be easy to synchronize afterwards.

I think at first it's good to concentrate on these 6 Locations you all mentioned and find the exact positions by description like black roof, white roof, left from right from, streetname, etc. together.

Links:
1. Bamboushay, Charlotte Amalie, USVI
Source: ms411, islandiola, RonUSVI
Finding process: We marked this grey roof. Please correct or confirm.

2. xxx Salsa Bar, Near Victor's New Hideout (close to Best Western Emerald Beach), 8070 Lindbergh Bay, St. Thomas, USVI
Source: ms411
Finding process: I'm not sure if it is the white roof I've marked. Please correct or confirm. We also still need the name of the bar.

3. Greenhouse, Veterans Drive, Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, USVI
Source: ms411
Finding process: I just marked a place somewhere on Veteran's Drive. Please give me more precisely info.

4. Domenican Salsa Bars, Route 38, Weymouth Rhymer Highway, St. Thomas, USVI

Finding process: I'm not sure about this bar because I don't want to support prostitution at all. It sounded a little bit like that.

5. Stereo, Frenchtown, St. Thomas, USVI

6. xxx bar behind Holiday Inn, St. Thomas, USVI

Finding process: I've placed a pin behind the Holiday Inn like Ron said, Please doublecheck if it is the right roof and find out the name of the bar.

Coppy, I think I've got the name of the first place I mentioned. There are signs at the bottom of the hill and one of them says El Madrigal, but they're not listed in the phone book. The sign says something about dancing.

I asked someone I know who frequents Latin establishments, and he says there are 2 in that area. When I asked him about dancing there, the response was the same for Bamboushay - if you want to dance, dance. Maybe this weekend I'll go directly to the place and see if I can get more info.

Only after I have all the info will I put a pin.

Someone on tripadvisor posted this comment about the Sunday afternoon beach parties at Sapphire Beach Resort. They had been suspended for over a year, and have now resumed (hurray!) It's a MUST DO for dancers! I think it starts at 2 p.m. It's mostly soca music, I think.

"We've enjoyed two Sunday Beach parties, Cool Sessions was the band at both. What a good time. Owners, guests and locals all dancing, drinking and enjoying the music."

1. Looks about right.

2. The spot you marked looks like Walker's by the Sea, a restaurant. I don't know the exact building for the place Ms411 mentioned but if its the area I am thinking then its further to the right on the map. Up the road named Subbase Rd, which is off of Moravian Hwy.

3. You need to move the marker further right, passed Emile Griffith Park. I think its Store Tvaer Gade that is next to Greenhouse.

4. Your marker is at the entrance to Cost U Less and some other shops, movie theatre. I think East Ender is right and its likely the strip on Turpentine Run you meant to mark. That would be a bit further right on the map.

5. You see the ballpark to the right of your marker - bottom, right side of ballpark; Stereo is in the white building just across the street.

6. Don't know the place Ronnie mentioned; there are a few hole-in-the-wall places in that area.

The bar Ron is talking about behind the Holiday Inn doesn't have a name. I went by there this weekend, and there's no name sign. However, there are Yankees and Mets emblems painted on the outside, and it's next to Josexxx car wash or something like that. You can't miss it. It's really on lower Main Street near Catholic Church.

I know the realtor for that bar, and he said pretty much the same thing everybody says about the other bars - if you want to dance - dance.

I don't think that map has all the roofs, and our high speed internet connections here aren't really fast, so it's a pain waiting for everything to load.

Stay tuned...

3. Greenhouse: move the tag just a little to the left to the white roof. Think that is right.

5. Stereo - yes that is the right building. It houses a few different restaurants/bars including Stereo.

Iggy's Beach Bar on the south side hosts a typical island show on the beach each Wednesday evening. The local band is very good. We usually arrive early, have dinner, and dance until the show begins (then it is time to leave!).

I have been looking for salsa when I go visit also. The last time I went to a place across from what used to be called Four Winds Plaza. I dont know if it is still called that. The played salsa, merengue and bachata but only a few people where dancing. When is your trip? Im going sometime so also. Maybe we can get together and dance. I dance PR style as well as NY style on2.
