We arrive on the plane at 2:55 Delta on a Monday.  We will be heading the same day to Tortola.  Should we buy our ferry ticket in advance?  If we do and miss the 4:00 ferry would our ticket be good for the 5:30 ferry?

It will take you about 30 minutes to deboard the plane and collect your luggage. The drive is a 10 minute ride over to the ferry dock. If your flight is on time, you will make the 4:00 ferry. If your flight is delayed, you will be cutting it close.

Don't buy your ticket in advance. You are traveling off season at this point, things have slowed down. Low chance of the ferry selling out.

We used Seahorse Water Taxi to take us over to BVIYC. They took care of both the land and water. Our flight was 15 minutes late, not a big deal, but they adjusted everything. They had our taxi waiting and when we arrived at the marina, and the boat was waiting when we arrived. The checked us into the BVI and we waited on the boat. Dropped us right at our boat. Made everything EASY!
