Has anyone gone on one of the jeep tours with Tan Tan Tours ( http://www.stxtantantours.com/ )? How was it? Worth the time and money?

My family is interested in this tour. My sons will love it (ages 11 and 15 years). However, my husband, who never had any neck or back pain in the past, recently had muscle spasms in the neck. Do you think this trip my trigger a problem? Also, I'm a wimp. While I want to see the island, is there any part of the tour the non-adventurous side of me will hate?

Husband described it as moderate off roading. Maybe you should do the half day day tour as it is less arduous. As far as causing neck problems my husband said he felt sore the next day. There is a lot of holding on and moving your body to counter balance. I have had back and neck surgeries but I go off roading all the time. Sometimes I regret it but most of the time I just experience soreness. I don't there is anything on the tour that will frighten you and the scenery is incredible. Hope this helps.

My husband has a bad back and neck AND I was recovering from a total knee placement AND we are both in our fifties. We very much enjoyed the tour. Because I am vertically challenged and a bit on the pudgy side I required help getting into the somewhat high jeep. If you don't mind the shove from behind, go ahead. Live alittle. It was fun to go through the rain forest, down into the tidepools and then stop for wonderful concoctions at the Domino Club and Spratnet. I recommend the tour to all folks who really want to see the island.

4 things I always tell anyone who visits here......1) go see Norma at the domino club and feed the pigs beer .....2) go under water....Michele Pugh at dive Experience is the best (I think ).......3) go eat at Villa Morales.......local food , local prices......4) take a Tan Tan tour with Wave and Jenny...........with a half day you will miss goat hill and the east end....amazing views but a real bad....or good road to drive up......a full day will be about 6-7 hours........they drive at the pace of their passengers ....so they go as fast or slow as you like.........don't miss the tour you will see why we live here ........lotsa empty space and un-cluttered beauty..have a great trip.....see you at Norma's....maybe

Thanks for the info. We will definately will do the tour. My sons will love it and I like to explore each island we visit, especially with the help of a local. I'll let the boys decide between 1/2 and whole day. It was the "roller coaster" description that scared me a little. I'm excited about the tidal pools and rain forest.
