Part 2
On Saturday our friends arrived. They were on United’s direct flight from Chicago and arrived about 20 mins. early. Remember the chaos I said we tried to avoid on our arrival, well here we were right in the middle of it. By this time we were on island time, had a couple of drinks in us, and we weren’t really bothered by all the craziness. However, we did wait over an hour and a half for their luggage to arrive. I had warned them of this before they arrived. Avoid Sat. arrivals if you can.

We were off to Villa Jamie again. We couldn’t wait for them to see this place. As we expected they loved it. We all hit the pool for a couple of hours. Then off to Blue Moon Café for dinner. I don’t know who had the great idea to pack all 6 of us into the Toyota Camry, but it was a ride we won’t soon forget. Just getting out of the driveway was a challenge! You forget about all the speed bumps they have on the island. I think we lost some of the underside of the car. If you noticed any speed bumps that are lacking yellow paint. You can thank us! We did manage to find Blue Moon after taking a couple of wrong turns and asking a young lady for directions 2 times! She must have thought we were crazy. She is right!
We had a nice meal at Blue Moon. It wasn’t the best meal I had, but it was good. It was a little pricey for what you get. 3 people had surf and turf, 1 had chicken, 1 had some fish, maybe swordfish, and another had pasta and shrimp. Half of us had bottled water to drink and the others had 1 beer each. Our bill was $350. That included tip which our server didn’t tell us about. That is a pet peeve of mine. If they let you know the tip is included I always leave more. If they don’t mention it, that is their tip.

Our friend we almost ran over in the road!

After dinner we went back to the villa to hang out by the pool. This was our nightly ritual. It was a shame that we didn’t spend more time inside the villa. However the outside was even more beautiful!
Sunday morning we awoke to some brief showers. Our plans were to head over to STJ whenever we felt like it. We watched the rain showers blow across the water. It was incredible.
We took the Red Hook ferry over. I think we were on the 12:00. You know you are having a great vacation when you can’t remember what day or time it is. We sat right up front on the right side. The water was a little rough and we got WET! It was so much fun. I felt like a kid a Sea World!

Before we were soaked!

The Ritz on STT

We got off the ferry and found a taxi for an island tour. The last trip we had planned to do a little sight seeing and some how we ended up at Woody’s for way too long. This time I was seeing St. John first! It was a great tour for people who have not visited St. John. The gentlemen gave us a bunch of educational information about St. John. We saw many animals (cows, pigs, etc) wandering around. My husband wonder why people don’t take them and cook them up. Our taxi driver said the island is small. People would smell you cooking them and find you by the smell. There were no cruise ships in today so we ended our tour at Trunk Bay. It was terrific. The water is magnificent. It also happened to be Father’s Day. So it was a relaxing way for the dads in our group to spend their day.

No good trip to STJ could end without a trip to Woody’s. So off we went just in time for happy hour and boy did we get happy! After a snack and too many drinks to count we managed to get back to the ferry. From the ferry we ended up stopping at Island Time Pub. It is a great place to socialize. We had such a great day and evening. We ended up back at the house preparing drinks for our Monday trip to the BVI’s. We were all on island time now and loving it!

Our happy group at Woody's.

We too were at Trunk Bay on Father's Day! What a hoot. Love your report and the pics really add a great touch to reading about your experience. That Villa Jamie is TO DIE FOR. Makes someone who always stays on STJ reconsider staying on STT!

Look forward to the rest of your reports...

Sherri,
There is more to come. I just have to do it while hubby is at work. I spent over 4 hours so far. I'll start again on Monday. You'll have to read it when you return. We are getting together with our whole group tonight. Then I will have more pictures. Enjoy your trip. Good luck with all the weddings!
