Friday May 2nd, 2008Jump Up St. Croix, Christiansted Come join the fun of a evening street party St. Croix style in Christiansted. Jump Up is an event that takes place 4 times a year in the streets of downtown Christiansted. Stores stay open late and offer special sales. Vendors line the streets selling local food and drinks as well as fun items for the kids. Social Organizations have tables displaying their information to increase awareness. Lots of fun!! Live music on every corner and Mocko Jumbies dance for the crowd in the streets.
Saturday May 3rd, 2008Annual Spring Arts and Crafts Festival St. Thomas, Tillett Gardens 10:00am The Arts Alive Annual Springtime Arts and Crafts Festival is coming once again to Tillett Gardens! It’s going to be a fun filled weekend with great opportunities to get your Mother’s Day shopping started. Come see the work of local artists, listen to the sounds of our wonderful local musicians, eat great food and get those kids involved in art – hands on. Kids will have a chance to create their own artwork in the Kid’s Corner on Saturday and Sunday from 12pm to 4pm in the lobby of Pistarckle Theatre. The Kids’s Corner is brought to you by Arts Alive and is sponsored by The Traveling Road Show. Live entertainment and music will start at 12pm and continue throughout each day until 4pm. There will be a raffle prize fundraiser all weekend with winners announced hourly as well a silent auction with great items to bid on. Telephone: (340) 776-8566

Thursday May 15th, 2008Art Thursdays St. Croix, Christiansted 5:00pm Join the fun when Christiansted businesses including art galleries, retail shops and restaurants stay open late for a series of gallery walks. The purpose of Art Thursdays is to strengthen and invigorate the St. Croix art community by extending a monthly invitation for the public to come out and be a part of St. Croix's enthusiastic art community. Galleries include: Danica Art Gallery, The Goldworker, ib Designs, Maria Henle Studio, Crucian Gold, D&D Studio, Maufe Gallery, Twin City Coffee House and Gallery and Yellow House Gallery. Saturday May 17th, 2008Complexions Dance Company St. Thomas, Reichhold Center for the Perfo Former Alvin Ailey principal dancers Dwight Rhoden and Desmond Richardson realized their dream to create a dance company that represents cultural diversity with innovative flair. The group includes dancers from around the world, including Trinidad, South Korea, the Netherlands as well as the United States. Complexion’s diversity is reflected artistically as well, as dancers pirouette to a Swedish Ballet or funk it up for “Chapters” a tribute to the music of Marvin Gaye.
